ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – A Las Vegas couple had their SUV and 2 dogs stolen during a brief stay in St. Louis extended his stay and increased the reward for the dog still missing. Marcos Chaljub-Zambrano and Freddy Zambrano-Chaljub are currently offering a reward of $1,500 for the safe return of their French bulldog Disko.
Freddy said: “There’s no way we can leave without making every effort to bring him back.
Marcos and Freddy were on tour around the 48 states when their SUV was stolen Monday near 14th and Washington Avenue. It has all their possessions for the trip and their 2 dogs. One of the dogs, Rocky, was found later.
On Thursday night, police announced that their stolen Hyundai Sante Fe SUV had been found.
“So it came back surprisingly well. Freddy said.
The couple only planned to spend a night in St. Louis but stayed for seven days. As of Monday, they have been examining reported cases of Disko sightings in O’Fallon Park and Fox Park.
The owners of several buildings near the scene of the theft provided them with surveillance camera video of the suspects who stole their SUV. The video shows three people walking down the sidewalk towards their car, one wearing a surgical mask. In the video, a Metro bus can be seen blocking the SUV’s view and as it sped away, the vehicle and the three suspects were gone.
The video could help police identify the suspect, but Freddy and Marcos hope the reward will be the key to bringing Disko back.
“We hope it will encourage anyone who has him to bring him to us, rather than trying to sell him on the street to a stranger,” Marcos said.
Marcos and Freddy said they are grateful for the help and support they have given them, including donations from groups of lost dogs for rewards and free shelter while they search.
