A 17-year-old girl from Indianapolis, Indiana is suffering in hospital with a broken neck days after she was allegedly assaulted and beaten by two male students.
Now, the story of what happened last week at Warren Central High School, and statements about the facility’s lack of clarity are shocking and disgusted by the victim’s family. The incident happened on September 13, when the senior Niyah Dixon allegedly attacked by two unnamed boys at the school. Based on WRTV IndianapolisDixon suffered a broken neck, torn ligaments and other serious injuries during the beating.

The school declined to share information about the incident, citing the age of the young people involved. However, Dixon’s mother Lakesha Cannon spoke to the news outlet on Thursday, and claimed that the beating began in a classroom. According to Cannon, one boy started punching Dixon, and then another boy “ran in” to join the attack.
Dixon rushed to the bathroom, hoping to find safety from the smash. However, the boys are said to have followed her there and continued to attack her until she lost consciousness. In the end, another student separated the boys and ended the matter. Dixon was taken to see the school nurse, but the administrators apparently did NOT call 911 – as Cannon claimed that Dixon’s father came to the school, picked her up, and drove her to the hospital himself!
When she comes Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Dixon was immediately put into surgery. She underwent a six-hour surgery on her broken neck. From her hospital bed last weekend, the recovering girl told the news agency:
“It was so scary, I couldn’t raise my head by myself.”
Her mother further explained her daughter’s current state of health:
“She has to get a plate in front of her neck, she has to get pins at the back of her neck.”

Understandably, Cannon was disgusted by what had happened to his daughter. Thinking about how easily beating can become deadly, she said:
“I sit here and thank God as much as I can that I still have a daughter. Another snap, another jerk, another. I’m not supposed to be a girl. “

The mother told the news agency that one of the boys may have been romantically involved with her daughter. Cannon said the boy allegedly sent Dixon “a threatening text message” a week before the attack occurred. Angered by the violent attack and its apparent motives, Cannon said of the two alleged attackers:
“It was a lot, from something both gentlemen could have just walked away. I have described them as some small untrained monster. After what they did to my daughter, there is no other label for them.”
As for Dixon, she took a more faithful view of the incident. Speaking to the news org from her hospital bed, the teenage victim said:
“I’ll let God handle it.”
Although the school was not supposed to call 911 at the time, it appears the school is final deal with the attack the next day. Every WRTV, one of the boys involved was arrested and charged with three counts of battery use and one count of disruptive conduct. According to the broadcaster, both boys were also expelled from the school.
On Friday morning, the school principal, Masimba TaylorThe newspaper has sent a letter to the parents about the incident. Dennis JarrettWarren Central School District’s director of communications and community relations, issued a statement about the attack and its aftermath on Friday, as well as:
“The daily safety of our Warren High School students and staff has been, is and will continue to be our top priority. The intentional, purposeful and criminal acts of individuals that took place on Tuesday, September 13 are intolerable for our school and for our society. We will continue to work with law enforcement and provide support to the injured student and his or her family, while respecting their privacy.”
Now, Dixon will continue to recuperate at the hospital. According to the news agency, she wants to be a pediatrician and hopes to do pre-college studies. It’s a terrible situation.
