The lights go out, the crowd screams and suddenly nothing else matters.
Get up there by stepping off the plane and feeling the heat in your face, live music is arguably one of life’s greatest pleasures, taking you to a time and place where you can truly be yourself and forget about daily busyness for a few hours – totally happy!
From indie gigs to weekend festivals, live music is back and really coming back this summer and Team Zoella couldn’t be happier about it. This month, we’re sharing the outfits we’ve been eagerly planning as we count down to the events that make our hearts race, because if your spare time isn’t a dream… daydreaming about whether Harry Styles will spot your 10/10 outfit in the crowd, you’re doing it wrong…
Charlotte – Harry Styles love on tour
Harry Styles Love On Tour will in fact be my personality trait during the summer months and I don’t regret it. I’m doing 3 shows over 4 days next month and let’s just say the costume planning is tight right now. For this look, I went for something that was relatively comfortable but it still made Harry scream, and I really feel it- imagine you’re dancing to the Sushi Restaurant Music for a while. this ?! UGH, I’m happy. Pants are always a good call to show realism and I have a feeling like 99% of the audience will be wearing cowboy boots which again I’m happy to go with. Finish off with some facial gems (because if you can’t afford to see Harry Styles, then you can), and a small pouch for a portable charger, lip gloss, and money for merchandise and voila, ready!
Darcey – The mighty Hoopla Festival
I’m going to Mighty Hoopla next Friday so it’s completely natural to mix and match outfits for the event! I would be happy in the presence of Steps, Anastacia and Cascada, sorry what?! This requires a good outfit. I went with a beautiful purple satin slip dress by UO because I also wanted to buy something I could wear again, I styled it with some pleated socks (it’s for the 6th year disco) and I love it) and some flats. Accessory wise I found some flower earrings also on UO which I think would be interesting to look at and then bag wise, of course, I’m going bumbag, need something practical for all the jumping and running around from stage to stage.
Lareese – Adele at Hyde Park
Have I received my ticket yet? No. Am I a bitter dreamer? Alexa, play Cry Your Heart Out. I was due to see her in 2017 but missed out when she had to cancel her last two shows at Wembley, so it didn’t seem like I had the grace to experience the euphoria of listening to Delly in real life. Misery. To be. I. I may be sitting at home sulking in July but mentally, I’ll be in Hyde Park for my best summer, with this rally midi dress. I would pair it with an oversized outerwear (this is England, after all), flats for comfort, sundresses and a croc baguette for a different shade of green. .
Danielle – Little Mix Tour
I didn’t get tickets to this year’s Little Mix final tour, but they were on my EVERY watch list. I updated the fan cam content, so let’s put this outfit together for what I am will have worn is both brilliant and heartbreaking! Start with a white t-shirt under this super cute lilac satin dress, I believe this Motel dress went viral on TikTok because you can tie it around the back to make it fit you better. . Oversized denim jackets are always a vibe especially in summer and this jacket from Arket looks like it goes with anything. White sandals on the feet but I also think white sneakers would be very effective too, especially if you are walking to the venue. Finish off the whole thing with a pop of color in the form of this lime green handbag.
Maddie – SkyBar Festival
Sky Bar is the ultimate beachside festival held in picturesque locations on the southwest coast. This is where beach opulence comes into its own, so the outfit possibilities are endless. An evening at the Sky Bar can go from magical sunset sipping cocktails to epic dance floor cuts pretty quickly, so your outfit needs to go from day to night in seconds. I chose a very cute gingham dress that I will pair with a little white denim jacket. For the festivities, I’m all about comfort, so you can’t go wrong with some classic white converse, but I’ll add a few anklets that always bring a sense of holiday cheer. Throw in some vintage-style sunscreen and a little bag and you’re good to go, just don’t forget your sunscreen!
