5-Year-Old Girl Raped In Delhi’s Bhalswa Dairy, CCTV Shows Moment She Was Kidnapped

Police say a 5-year-old girl was abducted and then raped in a northern suburb of Delhi on Wednesday.
Police said the girl was abducted by a man while playing outside her house in Bhalswa Dairy, Delhi on Wednesday.
The moment the child was kidnapped was captured by CCTV installed in the area. CCTV footage shows the kidnapper holding the baby girl in his arms.
Officials said the 5-year-old girl was found near a park in the area early the next morning, adding that she was taken to the hospital for a medical examination and confirmed by doctors. that she was raped.
Police said the suspect was missing and a search was underway to track him down.
The girl’s parents are betting every day. They filed a missing person complaint after she failed to return home Wednesday night.
After her parents reported her missing, the police formed three teams to track down the child and her photos were also shared with other police stations.
A notice was also made in the area about her, a police official said.
Devesh Kumar Mahla, Deputy Commissioner of Police, a suburb north of Delhi, said the search continued throughout the night and the child was found near a park at 7am on Thursday.
“We hope to catch the accused soon,” he said.
A case has been registered against a defendant under the Protection of Children from Sex Crimes Act (POCSO) for the rape and abduction of an underage girl.
The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has asked the police to report the incident.
“A 5-year-old girl was raped in Delhi. She was picked up from the front of her residence at Bhalswa Dairy and later found near a lake. She underwent an operation in the hospital. My team is with her. We have made a notice informing Delhi Police so that the accused are caught soon,” DCW head Swati Maliwal tweeted in Hindi.
