ARLINGTON, Texas – – Devon Achane dashed 159 yards and hit the ground, Demi Richardson sprinted the final 82 yards in a wild comeback for another score, and the 23rd Texas A&M beat 10th-ranked Arkansas 23-21 on Saturday night.

The Razorbacks (3-1, 1-1 SEC) have a chance to lead with 1:30 left, but Orange LittleThe 42-yard attempt to score from the left-hand pound hit near the top of the vertical right-wing – and hit the ground in the late zone didn’t go well. That momentum came shortly after the Aggies missed a longer goal-scoring attempt.

Texas A&M (3-1, 1-0) is on a streak of wins against ranked teams since an embarrassing 17-14 home loss to Appalachian State two weeks ago. The grand opening for the Aggies comes a week after a 17-9 win over No. 13 Miami, then dropped 12 places and now won’t rank after one Lost 45-31 at home to Middle Tennessee State earlier than Saturday.

Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher said: “We’re still not close to where we need to be. We have to heal some self-inflicted wounds, have to clean things up.” “But we’ve beaten two teams that don’t play well, don’t play well, but play well sometimes still play and make tackles when we have to, and that’s very encouraging.”

Arkansas leads 14-0 after TD overtakes KJ Jefferson on consecutive drives in the first quarter. The first time he threw a screen that Ketron Jackson turned into a score of 32 yards before finding Warren Thompson wide open behind high school for a 56-yard athlete.

But after Razorbacks responded Max Johnson10 yards TD pass of Evan Stewart By driving 72 yards in 11 plays for the number 3, Jefferson for some reason tried to jump over the strikers blocking the number 3 and lose the ball.

“It’s a tough one. Give A&M all the credit in the world, they’ve been fighting back 14 or under,” said Razorbacks coach Sam Pittman. “They’ve had a couple of big plays… and definitely a big tough rebound.”

Jefferson shot straight up instead and the ball was knocked out of his hand by defender Chris Russell and sent to the sky. Tireek Chappellwho took off the other way and found himself on the verge of running again Raheim Sanders close to 20. But he gave the ball to Richardson, who brought it into the back area.

“The gameplay has great momentum. That helped us a lot,” Acane said.

Fisher said he “didn’t know if it saved us, but it made it a lot easier for us to win.”

Although the Aggies can’t convert the forced addition, that touchdown is part of 23 consecutive points. They went ahead for good Acane’s 9 yards TD 20-14 lead.

Johnson, LSU transfer, went 11 of 21 over 151 yards in his second A&M warm-up. Jefferson completed 12 of 19 passes for 171 yards and ran 18 times for 105 yards. Jefferson had a goal from 6m with 10 minutes left.

Texas A&M: The Aggies recovered from an uncomfortably slow start, as they won 3 and lost their first four drives. They led 14-0 before going down for the first time on a 63-yard run taken by Acane midway through the second quarter.

Arkansas: The Razorbacks missed out on their first consecutive 4-0 opening game since 1988-89, still a few seasons before joining the SEC. The Hogs haven’t won their first two SEC games since 2006. They went on aggregate 4-0 last year with a win over the Aggies, who had won nine in a row in the previous series.

The Aggies will regain some of the places they’ve lost since finishing sixth last season and in the first week, but they’ll be a long way from returning to the top 10. Arkansas is sure to slip.

Arkansas at home to play No. 2 Alabama next Saturday.

Texas A&M will travel to Mississippi next Saturday to play the second of four straight away games at Kyle Field.
