Alex Moffat, Melissa Villaseñor, Aristotle Athari Departure – The Hollywood Reporter
Actor revenue in Saturday night live is getting bigger.
Three other members of the NBC show’s team – regulars Alex Moffat and Melissa Villaseñor and standout player Aristotle Athari – will leave before season 48, which begins in the fall. Their departures follow those of Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon and Kyle Mooney, who said their goodbyes in the final episode of season 47 in May.
Moffat and Villaseñor participated SNL was featured performer in 2016 and was promoted to repertoire player two years later. Moffat played President Joe Biden in a number of pre-season sketches last season, when James Austin Johnson took over the role and had recurring “Weekend Updates” clips as Eric Trump and Guy Who Just Bought a Boat.
Villaseñor’s recurring impressions include Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and she’s a believably outspoken woman in a series of sketches.
