Amber Heard Says She Still Loves Johnny Depp After All – But Fears Other Defamation Lawsuits: ‘I’m Scared’
Just as we imagined, Amber Heard has much to say in the second part of her explosive interview with Today‘S Savannah Guthrie!
Airing Wednesday morning, the talk show host Cried the actress about her intentions in writing the infamous drama. Washington Post learn about the heart of the defamation case and about her feelings towards her ex-husband Johnny Depp now. And her answer was surprisingly AF!

Savannah begins by giving a text But the pirate of the Caribbean the star once wrote to Amber in which he promised her “global humiliation.” On whether or not he will succeed, Amber muses:
“I know he promised. I have testified to this. I’m not a good victim, I get it. I’m not a lovable victim, I’m not a perfect victim. But when I testified, I asked the jury to see me as a human being and to hear his own words, it was a promise to deliver on this. It feels like he did. ”
She went on to admit that she was nervous speaking publicly about the alleged abuse she experienced now that she has lost her defamation trial:
“I took what I took for granted my right to speak.”
She was also worried she might be sued by the actor again, adding:
“I fear that no matter what I do, no matter what I say or how I say it, every step I take creates another opportunity for the kind of silence – which is what a defamation lawsuit means. must do; it is meant to raise your voice. “
And it still hasn’t completely stripped her of her voice. After all, in the segment of Tuesday’s interview, she insisted Johnny lied in his testimony about never physically assaulting her. A pretty big accusation to clear things up!

This interview takes place while Amber owes Johnny $10.35 million in punitive damages, according to a jury decision on June 1, in which they largely sided with Magical Creatures alum. Amber won $2 million, but she still has a lot of money left – money her lawyer claims she can’t afford!
Again, Savannah also questioned the actress about a $7 million donation to charity that she claimed to have donated after the divorce settlement. In court, it was discovered that she had not fulfilled her commitment even though it appeared that she had delivered all the funds. She tries to explain the problem away, saying:
“I made a commitment, and the nature of that commitment is made over time.”
Savannah quickly clapped her hands at that, arguing that perhaps Amber’s misleading use of wording made her appear less trustworthy to the jury after it was reported that she had not given up. contribute all the money. Amber huffed and replied:
“Much of the trial was aimed at creating confusion about who I am, my credibility, and calling me a liar in every way you can.”
She continued:
“This is one of those other examples where, if you retracted, I wouldn’t have needed to donate it in an effort to be trusted.”
Sure, but not after you claim that you did! Right?

Interestingly, despite reportedly having to pay years of legal fees, Amber still plans to fulfill her $7 million pledge. But, um, where is she going with the big 17.35 million dollars now??
When the viewer can reflect on that, the conversation then turns to Washington Post op-ed and Amber’s intentions in writing it. While Zombieland The star never named the 59-year-old by name, not until two years after they resolved their divorce. Amber insists that was never the content of the piece, saying:
“Because the op-ed wasn’t about my relationship with Johnny.”
“What the op-ed was about was me lending my voice to a larger cultural conversation that we were having at the time.”
Interestingly, she also had a lot of attorneys check the selection before she published it – so she was a bit worried that she might be saying something she shouldn’t! Listen to continue:
“I obviously know it’s important to me not to reveal him or do anything like smear him. I asked the lawyers – the group of lawyers – to review all the manuscripts on this. “
Amber later insisted she never planned or desired to get Johnny fired for what she wrote in her article – even though it was the pinnacle of the #MeToo movement at a time when masses of men were Canceled. She repeated:
“Of course not. Of course not. It’s not about him.”

Then Amber insisted she did NOT call TMZ before filing for a restraining order in 2016, despite what a former employee testified. In fact, she claims she wanted to keep the whole thing as private as possible (although she quickly realized that wasn’t possible because of legal issues). One person’s mother noted:
“This is a hoax by his group. Why don’t I cooperate with the police? As I testified before and I will stay until the day I die, I do not want to cooperate with them. I don’t want this to happen. I don’t want this to be known. I don’t want to cooperate with them because I don’t want to get him in trouble. If it was a hoax, I would have done it.”
“Five days later, I decided to stand up for myself. You can’t get a restraining order in private, which of course I didn’t understand the night when the police were called. “
On the subject of bruises (which the Depp team often brings up to question the instances of violence to which Amber has testified), she explains:
“Again, it’s that, if you have bruises, if you have injuries, it’s fake. If you didn’t have any, you wouldn’t have been injured.”
And for the biggest shock, the outspoken 36-year-old says she STILL loves Johnny – even after everything?! She urges:
“Sure. I love him. I loved him with all my heart.”
