Amber Heard testifies on abuse allegations against Johnny Depp: ‘I’ve never been so scared in my life’ – National

Amber Heard was back in the stands on Thursday, testifying in an ongoing defamation trial by her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.
Heard’s testimony begins with three pictures she took of Depp in 2013 – after a year of dating.
In the first photo, Depp is sleeping on a chair on his private island. Heard testified that Depp had a “short period of sobriety” before he started taking drugs again, when the photo was taken.
The second picture is of a sleeping Depp after what Heard calls a “drunk for a few days”. She said the actor did not eat or sleep much at that time.
The third image depicts Depp lying face down on the floor of his hotel room.

Heard testified that she asked Depp for a prenuptial agreement before they married. She claims he refused her request, telling her, “The only way out of this is death.”
Heard then recorded the couple’s attendance at the Met Gala in 2014. Heard said Depp accused her of flirting with a woman at the event. She said once they got home, Depp grabbed her by the neck and threw a bottle at her, damaging and breaking a chandelier.
She claimed Depp held her down and “smacked her hard in the face”. She said she suspected she had broken her nose because it was swollen, discolored and red. (It’s unclear if Heard ever broke his nose.)

When asked about filming Adderall Diaries With actor James Franco, Heard said Depp “hated” Franco and accused her of having previously had “secret sex” with the actor.
Heard said Depp had a problem with the sex scene she and Franco played in the movie and that Depp called her a “slut” and asked some rude questions about the scene and her body.

Heard also testified about Depp’s withdrawal from the opiate, Roxicodone. She said that the actor’s mood was sporadic and intense, abruptly turning from cheerful to angry and violent. “It was hell,” she said.
Heard testified that the pair frequently argued and said “horrible things” to each other.
“I’m so embarrassed about the names we would call each other,” she said, adding that they both “go into that mold”.

As Heard’s testimony continued, she answered questions in great detail about the now infamous Australia trip, where Depp lost the tip of his middle finger. Depp previously testified that the digit was severed when Heard threw a glass vodka bottle into his hand.
She said when she met Depp in Australia “he’d lost a ton”, and that’s when she knew “something’s going on.”
When they reunited (both working on separate projects) Heard said Depp offered her to do MDMA with him, but she said she firmly refused.

As she was about to leave, she said Depp shoved her and she “slipped” on the floor. She said Depp then kept her throat in the fridge before she slapped him in the face in retaliation and “rushed.”
The next day, Depp was still paranoid that she was having an affair with her co-star Eddie Redmayne, as well as actor Billy Bob Thornton, and his suspicions had led to an “aggressive” fight.
She said Depp pushed her into the fridge before throwing her on the game table and hitting her in the face. At this point, the couple threw and smashed bottles at each other.
“At one point, he put a broken bottle face down on my face, the neck area next to my jaw, and he told me he was going to carve my face,” she said.

She continued, testifying through tears that Depp ripped off her nightgown, leaving her naked.
Hearing, speaking through sobs and covering his face, told the jury Depp climbed on top of her and continued to punch her.
“I felt pain and there was a pressure on my pubic bone,” she said, explaining that she then realized she was being stabbed by a glass bottle. “I just remember being really still and not wanting to move.”
“I don’t know if the bottle he kept in me broke,” she told the court through sobs.

She also testified that as the alleged sexual assault was unfolding, Depp repeated the same phrase over and over: “I will kill you.”
When the attack was supposed to be over, she ran to the restroom, where she began to react violently and lose control of her bladder.
When she showed up, “several hours” later, she said Depp had painted the walls and surfaces with various messages, including the “giant penis” on the mural.
The court showed photos from the dumped property taken in the days that followed – broken bottles, blood stains, holes in the drywall were the consequences presented to the jury.

“I thought maybe if I left him in Australia, I thought something might happen to him… that he might die or kill himself. That seems to be the trajectory he’s on,” she told the court about her conflicting feelings on returning to the US without her allegiance.
However, she said when the two returned to the US, they reached a settlement. Depp is facing surgery and Heard says she wants to be there to make sure he’s okay.
However, things quickly spiraled out of control. Heard said not long after that, there was another particularly violent fight where her sister, Whitney, tried to come in between and break up the couple.
However, when Depp hit Whitney, Heard said she threw a punch at Depp and it was “the first time I actually landed a punch”.

That fight continued to escalate, and Heard said she decided to move out of their home. While packing, she testified that Depp had headbutted her in the face.
She said he then pressed her face down on their bed and started punching her in the back of the head, repeatedly.
“I don’t even remember feeling pain… I just remember him saying ‘I hate you, I hate you,’ over and over again,” she said in tears in court.
“I thought, ‘this is how I die.'”
When she woke up the next morning, Heard said that Depp was gone and her best friend was there. The bed frame – a heavy and low piece of furniture – was broken. She said her hair was strewn all over the house from the fight the day before, and there were blood stains all over the bed sheets.

However, despite numerous bruises and lesions on her scalp, Heard said she decided to take a “gamble” and move on. The Late Late Show with James Corden a few nights later. She said her makeup team worked carefully to cover the dark spots and she applied a thick layer of red and lipstick to cover a cut on her lip.
Heard’s testimony ended after telling the court about her Christmas break that year with Depp and his two children. Depp promised to be more sober, and so Heard decided to travel to his island in the Bahamas because in the end she was “heartbroken” about the possibility of missing their first Christmas as wife husband.
The first part of the trip went well, she said, but towards the end she suspects Depp was on drugs and alcohol.

The pair were once again embroiled in a physical fight, she said, which ended when Depp locked her in a bathroom and allegedly sexually assaulted her again, this time with his fingers. .
“‘Are you tough as a man now?” He was talking to me, while tugging at me with his fingers inside of me,” Heard apparently said in pain in court.
The court adjourned for a week, until May 16.
During the legal battle between the two stars, both Heard, 36, and Depp, 58, claimed to be victims of violence. The court’s initial lawsuit began when Depp filed a $50 million lawsuit against the Washington Post for defamation of the Washington Post, written by Heard in late 2018 about domestic abuse.
Heard did not mention Depp’s name in the article, but the actor alleges that his reputation and career are still “devastated”.
In taking his stance on Wednesday, Heard told the jury that the trial was “incredibly painful” and “the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.”
On Tuesday, after Depp’s legal team completed questioning their witnesses, Heard’s attorneys asked the judge to dismiss the case, arguing that Depp had not presented his case as such. a matter of law and no reasonable jury could go in his favor.

Judge Penney Azcarate said the standard to dismiss a case at this point in the trial was extremely high, and the case should be allowed to proceed if Depp had provided even a “diagram” of supporting evidence. for his statements; she then dismissed the petition.
Heard is opposing Depp for $100 million.
