Old camcorder Denmark’s Kaneria urged Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to get a leaf out of Indian cricket and start building bench strength. Kaneria believes that Pakistan is too concerned with the present and not looking to the future.
Pakistan will face arch rival India on August 28 in Dubai in the clash in Asia 2022. The last time the two teams met at the same venue, in the 2021 T20 World Cup, the team by Babar Azam beat Men in Blue by 10 sockets.
Previewing the 2022 Indo-Pak Asia Cup clash, Kaneria laments Pakistan’s lack of preparation. Speaking on his YouTube channel, he commented:
“Pakistan has played very little T20I since the World Cup last year. They played seven and won six. They played a big T20 game against Australia and lost that game.
“In comparison, India have played 24 games, won 20 (19 to be exact). India’s rate is much higher and they mainly play B and C teams. As Rohit Sharma said, India is creating out bench strength.”
Comparing India’s plans with Pakistan’s, the former cricketer points out:
“India is looking to the future. Unfortunately, Pakistan is not thinking about the same lines. There is no emphasis on generating bench power. They need to change their mentality and show a little courage. In the Netherlands tour, they can give opportunities to young players. “
Pakistan will compete in three ODIs in the Netherlands from August 16 to 21. The selectors have come up with a full-strength lineup for the series.

“Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were a very successful opening pair and they made an impact. Left-handed player Fakhar Zaman will be in third place in my lineup. There are contradictions in the way he hits the ball, but he’s still good at three.”
Babar scored 79 and 66 in his two most recent T20I knocks. Rizwan has also done well, scoring over the past half-century in two of his last four T20I games.
