Ayan Mukerji confirms that Brahmastra sequel will introduce new characters
In an interview, Ayan Mukerji said that development on future Brahmastra movies will begin when the first one comes out. The first film of the planned fantasy trilogy, Brahmastra – Part One: Shiva, will be released on September 9.
Shortly after the first teaser of the film was released earlier this week, fans began speculating about the clues the first film seemed to leave regarding the future of the franchise. Some even claim to have seen guest appearances by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Deepika’s super strong character is said to be at the heart of the second season of the series. The presence of Shah Rukh Khan in the first film has long been rumored, and it was recently reported that Madhuri Dixit and Ranveer Singh could also appear in the film.
Following the release of Brahmastra in September, Ayan told The Times of India that they were ‘planning to shoot season two and a third. ‘He said that the trilogy “will tell the same story”, but that each “will introduce new characters” and add different perspectives to the overall story.
Ayan has previously said that he intends to form a Marvel-style shared universe with Brahmastra. The film was shot over a period of 5 years.
The first trailer, which relied heavily on CGI, received mixed reviews. While some admire the significance of the project, others consider it too Western-inspired. Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy appear in the film.
