Belleville man sentenced to 25 years after sending child pornography to a St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) – A man will go to jail after being caught having sex.

As reported in 2020, 24 year old Kenneth Rogers traveled from Illinois to Brentwood, Mo. to allegedly have sex with a 14-year-old boy. On March 31, 2020, Rogers contacted the teen’s brother on the dating app Grindr without knowing he was a sergeant with the St. Louis is investigating online child sexual exploitation.

Rogers is said to have submitted child pornography to the officer through multiple apps before they met, according to court documents. When Rogers was arrested, officials found conversations on Kik Messenger in which Rogers sent and received child pornography. They also found 199 child pornographic images and 88 videos on Rogers’ phone, authorities said.

In November, Rogers pleaded guilty to one count of receiving child pornography and one count of traveling with the intent to commit an unlawful sexual act. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison. He was also charged with producing and distributing child pornography.
