Blast injures four civilians in Afghanistan’s Takhar province
KABUL: Four people were injured when an explosion rocked the city of Taluqan, capital of the north takhar province on Wednesday, The Newspapers Khaama reported on Wednesday.
Taliban security commander Abdul Mubin Safi in Takhar confirmed the explosion and claimed that a bomb was placed under the desk of a local administrative officer. He said four people were seriously injured.
However, unconfirmed sources said today’s bombing left very high consequences, Khaama news agency reported.
“It was a landmine explosion and injured four civilians,” provincial police spokesman Abdul Mubin Safi told Xinhua.
Without providing further details, the official added that an investigation has been started into the incident. Tolonews reported that the explosion occurred next to a private medical center called Qatar hospital.
Over the past few months, this war-torn county has seen an increasing number of security incidents, including explosions.
On Monday, an explosion killed the police chief of the northern province of Badakhshan and wounded two others. A day earlier, another explosion in Police District 6, Kabul city, caused no casualties but caused panic among locals.
