There’s an autopsy being done that we know can take quite a while. But what we heard [that] there’s a viral infection in her lungs.
Now, her official cause of death has been revealed, and it’s sad… A spokesperson for the New York City Medical Director’s Office shared with Everybody on Wednesday, Charlbi passed away from bacterial sepsis. The New York City coroner’s statement provides some additional clarity on sepsis, noting that it was caused after Charlbi was infected with a bacteria known as Capnocytophaga. follow CDCThis type of infection is rare – but there are different species that can develop in the human mouth and are also found in the mouths of dogs and cats. People with autoimmune problems and without a spleen are more susceptible to Capnocytophaga.
It is not known whether the animal’s bite or lick was the cause of her infection as the medical examiner has not released the full autopsy report. However, the spokesperson shared that her death was ultimately believed to be an accident. OH. Such a tragedy…
