A Chinese marathon runner smokes continuously throughout the race – and still finishes in less than three and a half hours.
Nicknamed “Uncle Chen”, the mass smoker relied on old habits when completing the nearby Tan An Giang Marathon. Shanghai last week.
Chen, 50, finished the arduous race in just 3 hours and 28 minutes and placed 574th out of more than 1,500 competitors.
After Chen’s photos went viral on social media Weibo, race organizers shared his race certificate and confirmed an impressive finish time.
Chen was also photographed smoking repeatedly while participating in other events, including the 2018 Guangzhou Marathon and the 2019 Xiamen Marathon.
He finished the 2018 race in 3 hours 36 minutes and the 2019 race in 3 hours 32 minutes, Running Canada Magazine reported.
Local media reported that Uncle Chen only smoked while running.
Chen first rose to fame when riders called him “Smoking Brother” during the 2017 marathons.
