Chris Evans talks about his dog Dodger and his new partnership

OLDChris Evans has a new role, but the role has nothing to do with acting. If you follow the star on social media, you will know how much he loves his pet dog Dodger. (A lot.) Posting scenes of them “working” together, cuddling and just hanging out, the actor is clearly a dog lover, and as such, he’s now partnered with Jinx, the nutrition brand for dogs, to take on an active role in the company, working to help inform creative direction and marketing campaigns.

“I gave my dog, Dodger, these gifts — he loves them,” says Evans. “So my sales manager really gave me the opportunity and I got to meet the people at Jinx. It’s been great to meet people who have the same passion as you and also have a product. really great product involved. It seems to make a lot of sense—Seems like a no-brainer.”

We caught up with Captain America — uh, I mean Chris Evans — to talk more about his puppy, his wellness habits, and whether he’s an introvert or an extrovert. Read all below.

W + G: What do you and Dodger like best together, activity-wise?

CE: “We love hiking, we love camping, we love walking, we love biking. You know, I’ve had dogs before, that’s not great when I’m biking. or me on roller blades or something; they’re a bit unpredictable. But the Dodger is a really well-balanced and measured running partner even when I’m on the wheel. We’re outdoor enthusiasts. , but we also like to sleep well. If we’re late at night, Dodger doesn’t mind sleeping in until noon.”

W+G: Now that we know you’re both a big fan of sleep, what’s your way of relaxing?

CE: “My job usually has a very early start time. Many days can start at 5 am, so if Dodger and I stay up late, we like to take the morning off. He wants to sleep late like me. When He’s young, it’s a little different, but in recent years he hasn’t bothered.”

W + G: You’ve talked about how you meditate with other people before. Is that something you do all the time?

CE: “Of course you do. I think you have to. It’s immediate feeling like you’re not eating enough vegetables or drinking enough water. If all of a sudden you have a bad day — physically, mentally, emotionally. — I think it’s easy to point out, God, if I really took the time to calm down a bit…”

W + G: Yes, I think people still tend to think of meditation as a thing, an action — a prescribed way of doing things. But it only really exists, and still is.

CE: “Yes, exactly: mindfulness. This can be as simple as brushing your teeth, just keeping your thoughts present and not trying to react and just letting things… be. No. let your brain work in 10 different directions.”

W+G: I’d like to answer you with some quick health questions. So let’s start off easy — are you an early bird or a night owl?

CE: “Oh my, a little bit of both. This is probably not good for my sleep, but… you know, I don’t usually sleep past 8 a.m. Nine a.m. is a good night’s sleep for me. , but that’s only because I’ve become an old man. two or three o’clock in the morning.”

CE: “I think everyone feels like they’re an introvert, myself included. I guess it depends on the company. Around friends and family, I’m a little different.”

CE: “I’m an almond-eating guy, if at all! I really don’t always find a need for it, based on what I eat.

W + G: Natural follow-up question — coffee or tea?

CE: “Oh, coffee. Sure. I don’t really drink that much tea.”
