Audiences can pay a little more to see the movie at the Cineplex this summer.
Canada’s largest film exhibitor says it has introduced a new $1.50 reservation fee for each ticket purchased through its mobile app and website.
The move comes as the company said it needed to “further invest and grow our digital infrastructure.”
However, not everyone has to pay a new service fee.
Cineplex Inc. says purchases made in person at the box office, ticketing kiosk or concession stand will incur no fees, while members of the Scene Plus rewards program will receive $1 off each ticket .
Those who sign up for CineClub, the company’s monthly subscription program, get a full fee waiver.
