Cyberpunk 2077 has reached the highest number of concurrent players on Steam since January 2021.
Follow Steam chart, Cyberpunk 2077 had about 85,555 concurrent players on Steam last weekend. Meanwhile, the game had over 1 million concurrent players at launch when it was released in December 2020, before tapering off. On January 21, 2021, there were approximately 80,483 concurrent players.
This increased popularity can be attributed to the critical reception of Studio Trigger’s Cyberpunk Edgerunners animated series and the accompanying 1.6 patch that includes Edgerunner content.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been riding on a roller coaster. It had a disastrous launch in December 2020 due to many bugs and glitches, especially with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. CD Projekt Red developer then offered refunds to any unsatisfied customers, and Sony delete game from the PlayStation Network Store as the situation unfolds.
The game was finally relied on on June 21, 2021, but with the caveat that it’s best experienced on PlayStation Pro and PlayStation 5. Both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions | Cyberpunk 2077’s S are all finally released on February 15, 2022.
In IGN’s Review of Cyberpunk Edgerunnerswe said, “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners offers a satisfying return to Night City, which does a better job of uncovering why Mike Pondsmith’s famous venue has become so iconic in the first place. “.
