Disney’s ‘National Treasure’ Series + More Justin Bartha – The Hollywood Reporter

The National Treasure series at Disney+ is bringing together a familiar face.

Justin Bartha, who co-stars Nicolas Cage in two National Treasure film, will reprise his role as Riley Poole on the show. He’ll be making a cameo on the series currently filming in Louisiana; Details on how Riley returned to the story are being kept under wraps.

Cast in the series last year, National Treasure stars Lisette Alexis as Jess, a brilliant and resourceful DREAMer who sets out on the adventure of a lifetime to uncover the truth about her family’s mysterious past and find a treasure Pan- American lost. The show has been described as an “expansion” of the movie franchise, and with Bartha’s participation now has a solid connection to the two films, which were released in 2004 and 2007.

The series’ cast also includes Catherine Zeta-Jones, Zuri Reed, Jordan Rodrigues, Antonio Cipriano, Jake Austin Walker and Lyndon Smith.

Cormac and Marianne Wibberley, who wrote both films (with Jim Kouf in the first), are executive producers alongside Jerry Bruckheimer (who produced the films); Jonathan Littman and KristieAnne Reid of Jerry Bruckheimer TV; Rick Muirragui, who is also a writer; Jon Turteltaub; and director Mira Nair.

Outside the National Treasure movies, Bartha’s credits include Hangover trilogy, Good fightBy Epix Harlem’s Godfather and Netflix’s Sweet girl. He is represented by CAA, MGMT Entertainment and Jackoway Tyerman.
