Dr. Anthony Fauci tests positive for COVID-19
EASYr. Anthony Fauci, who is facing the US pandemic through two White House regulators, has tested positive for coronavirus.
Fauci, 81, who is fully vaccinated and has received two booster shots, has been experiencing mild COVID-19 symptoms, according to a news release. statement Wednesday from the National Institutes of Health.
Fauci has not been in close contact with President Joe Biden or other senior government officials recently. He was positive on the rapid antigen test. He is following public health guidelines and his doctor’s advice, and will return to work at the NIH when the test results come back negative, according to the statement.
Fauci is Biden’s primary medical adviser and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He was a leading member of the White House anti-virus task force under former President Donald Trump.
Earlier this week, US Secretary of Health Xavier Becerra test positive for viruses. This is the second time Becerra has shown up with symptoms and a positive result.
