Dwight Howard continues to attract new NBA players from the playoffs to play in Taiwan.
This time, it was Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James who received an invitation from the former NBA player, who is currently playing in Taiwan’s T1 League.
In a live video, Howard is seen making a fake call to James, who finished the season on Tuesday (Manila time) after the game. The Lakers were wiped out by the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Western Conference Finals.
“We have purple and yellow shirts. I have one right here, it’s white. However, we have purple gold. No one gets the number 6. You can [have] that,” Howard is heard saying as he pretends to be on a phone call.
“You’ve been playing in the league for 35 years, you’ve broken all the records. YOU SHOULD FORGET, GET OUT. You can be LeGM here, LeCoach, you can be LeTrainer. You can be LeCook, LeDriver.”
After the Lakers were knocked out of the playoffs, reports said that LeBron was consider retirement after 20 years in the league.
An exasperated James hinted that he had to make a decision after the Lakers failed to make it to the NBA Finals again.
“I don’t like appearing in the Conference (final). I did it, a lot. And for me, it’s just not fun not being able to make it to the Finals,” LeBron said in his post-match press conference following a 113-111 loss in Game 4.
“But we will see. We shall see. We will see what happens in the future. I do not know. Honestly, I have a lot to think about.”
Eight-time NBA All-Star Howard joked that the players come and join him in Taiwan after their playoffs are over.
“Jordan Poole, come on! Julius Randle, come on! Ben Simmons, come on man,” Howard said in an earlier video. “Klay, you can slide down here too, my boy. Deandre Ayton, you and CP3 (Chris Paul) come on. KD (Kevin Durant)? Do your best, KD!”
The Warriors, Suns, and Knicks were eliminated in the Conference Finals while the Nets were eliminated in the first round of the knockout.
“Aye Ja, you got it right! I’m still with you if anyone else you can go to Taiwan if anything ✊🏾 leave it at home,” Howard tweeted.
