Tragedy struck loved ones seemingly unable to agree in Atlanta on Sunday night. Reportedly, a family argument escalated when different people fired multiple shots outside the hospital’s emergency room.
Police are hunting for multiple shooters after they are believed to have shot two people. One person died at Grady Memorial Hospital overnight. WSBTV reported that Atlanta police confirmed the shooters still had loopholes. One deceased person has not been identified. The other shot is recovering at the hospital after the shooting left Grady hospital on lockdown. It is known that they are seriously injured.
It is not yet clear publicly what family members have been arguing about.
Atlanta police chief speaks out about hospital shooting
Deputy Sheriff Charles Hampton Jr told the press that the shooting was due to family issues.
“The incident started in Dekalb County, several family members from that incident showed up outside the Grady emergency room, there was an argument that escalated to gunfire,” Hampton Jr. said.
Not long after the public controversy, someone opened fire.
“We have multiple shooters, two of the shooters fled the scene and we’re also looking for a third shooter,” Hampton Jr.
While there are few details about the incident, police say the family is cooperating and providing information about the shooting. Police have not named any suspects.
