Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters Apparently Rated for PS4 and Switch

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series is out on Steam and mobile, but it looks like the collection could be on its way to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

On Reddit, u/cefalu To share Screenshots from the ESRB’s website highlights the list for Final Fantasy first through Friday adding Nintendo Switch and PS4 to platform options. The original description for Final Fantasy 6 uploaded by Wario64 to Twitter shows Windows PC only.

As of the original Reddit post, it looks like the ESRB may have removed both consoles from all of the original Final Fantasy listings. According to IGN’s review of the ESRB website, look for games like Final Fantasy 4 only yields results for versions of the already released RPG.

Despite that, the ESRB’s descriptions in one way or another don’t mean that all hope of console versions of classic Final Fantasy titles is completely gone. Last year, Square Enix mentioned port of Pixel Remasters there may be more platforms based on need. Since then, the company has ended an alternating launch of all six games on Windows PC and mobile devices.

With time, these lists seem to make more sense. This week, December 18, Final Fantasy will celebrate its 35th anniversary after a long year of unexpected announcements. The Official Square Enix hub as the series hasn’t mentioned any Pixel Remaster news yet, but there’s plenty of time between now and Final Fantasy’s birthday.

As for the rest of the series, there’s plenty of news to keep up to date. The Final Fantasy 16 sequel is up for pre-order today, with a A monstrous Collector’s Edition to boot. An older classic of the PS1 era, Final Fantasy 7, has also just been added another remade spin-off Same goes for the library. The rest of the FF7 universe even saw a special broadcast earlier this year when Square Enix 25th anniversary game.
