MANILA, Philippines – F2 logistics coach Regine Diego made no excuses for the tough loss to Creamline in game 1 of their best 3-match semi-final series at the All-Filipino Games of the Foreign Volleyball League. ranked 2023 on Saturday at the Philsports Arena.

“They weren’t here [in the semis] for the longest time. Maybe they’re still used to it, but I don’t want to make excuses. We lost because we didn’t want to win, Creamline wanted it more than that. That’s why,” Diego said in Filipino after absorbing a 24-26, 18-25, 25-22, 15-25 lost to Creamline.

“Not because of the injury because all the teams are working hard. We lost because it was our fault. We didn’t play our best today.”

Diego still praises her second unit, which took a brave stance in the second set and helped starters Kim Kianna Dy, Elaine Kasilag, who filled in by Myla Pablo spot and Ivy Lacsina.

“I am pleased with our second player, they really did their best. But we need to work more, we need to learn from this in a positive way. But we still lost and I can’t accept that sorry I’m a huge loser. I really want to win. I am very competitive. I don’t need a reason,” she said.

F2 Logistics’ young coach lamented a poor performance in their fourth set, as they started 1-8, winning the third inning.

“It’s part of their trend. It’s very difficult for us coaches to push them because when they stop, they stop completely. They still have to figure out their motivation or what I should say to wake them up,” Diego said. “They can’t play like that. It’s a semi-final or you’ll give it your all or do nothing. I hope they learn from that because it’s so important. This is not just a random game. This is the semi-final. This is another ball game now.

Diego said Pablo’s condition remained daily after she missed her second game in a row.

“She will be the one to tell me. I want her to be mentally prepared. I want her to be physically ready because I’m not going to risk a match because it could get worse. I wouldn’t risk other conferences just for a game,” she said. “Day after day. I would try to talk to her while going through rehab because of her pains. But other than that, she had to tell me she was ready.

F2 Logistics fought to save its loved one’s life in Game 2 and prevented Creamline from reaching the All-Filipino Finals for the fifth time in a row on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“I told them they couldn’t stop whenever they wanted. They couldn’t stop connecting with each other for a very important point. It’s been a problem since then, so I’m trying to remind them that you can pay with a game or a set,” Diego said. “We are already here. The opportunity is here, either you take it or not.”
