Fair or not, Dragon Age: Inquisition is often compared to The Witcher 3. Released just a few months earlier, Dragon Age: Inquisition won the Game of the Year award and was praised by critics, but lead to unfavorable comparisons of CD Projekt Red’s prestigious role-playing game.
But The Witcher 3 has at least one big advantage over its rival. Talk to GLHF for an article in USA TodayFormer BioWare GM Aaryn Flynn pointed out that CDPR’s decision to focus on PS4, Xbox One, and PC has been a huge boon for the project over Dragon Age: Inquisition, which also had to work on Xbox 360 and PS3 .
“I would say that the biggest compromise came from having to transport [Dragon Age: Inquisition] on Xbox 360 and PS3 at the same time as we did on PS4 and Xbox One,” recalled Flynn.
“That stifles too much ambition because we didn’t have the team size or the time to differentiate those things, really. So you have to develop the lowest common denominator. And when that’s the case. happens, it definitely beat some expectations and We had ambitions about certain interesting features in the game.In contrast, CD Projekt didn’t do that with The Witcher 3, a few months later. and I think their game is better for it.”
