MANILA, Philippines — Gilas Pilipinas Women have booked a spot in the semifinals of the Fiba B Asian Women’s U16 Championship after finishing their Group A match with a 94-65 scoreline against Samoa on Sunday at Prince Hamza Hall in Amman, Jordan.

Coming off the field with 33 points on Saturday night, Kristan Geyl Yumul maintained his hot shot, leading the national youth team with 22 points out of five 3-pointers, with five assists, three rebounds and two steals for 20 minutes and 13 seconds of playtime.

Yumul teamed up with Samantha Paulene Medina to cause a storm in the second half, extending the lead to 67-52 in the last minute of the third by a 28-point margin, 83-55, thanks to a run. 16-3 is limited by Princess. Villarin’s jump at 7:03 of payback time.

The Gilas Girls created the biggest advantage, 94-63, behind Sierra Jade Patricio’s trio with 52.1 seconds to go, putting an exclamation point on their campaign for group stage dominance.

Gabby Ramos was limited to four points on the 2/9 shot but provided 10 rebounds, including five offensive goals, four steals, two assists and one save.

Kira May Filemu had a terrible brace, 28 points, 27 rebounds and seven assists for Samoa. But it came to naught as she made 14 of the team’s 30 spins.

Azaleeah ​​Oloapu had 18 points and 12 tables as Samoa finished Group A with a 1-2 record.
