‘Heartland’ actor Robert Cormier dies aged 33

Robert Cormier, a Toronto television and film actor who played Finn Cotter on the Canadian television series Heartlandpassed away on September 23. He is 33 years old.

No cause of death was given in Cormier’s obituary, but the actor’s sister Stephanie told The Hollywood Reporter that he died in Etobicoke hospital after being injured in a fall.

Cormier is also known for his role as Kit Jennings in the third season of Netflix’s horror anthology series Killer and Winston in Starz’s American Gods.

Cormier is remembered as “a great athlete, actor and brother,” according to the obituary.

“He has a passion for helping others and is always looking to achieve more,” the obituary reads. “Rob’s memory will live on thanks to his passion for art and cinema; as well as his three sisters who mean the world to him. “

Cormier first appeared on Heartland in the 15th season, where he played a newfound love for the show’s protagonist Amy Fleming, played by Canadian Amber Marshall. He is also expected to feature in the show’s 16th season, which is set to premiere on October 2.

After news of Cormier’s death, UpTV – organization Heartland in the US – paying tribute to the late actor with an Instagram post.

The network shared a photo of Cormier next to co-star Marshall and wrote: “Robert Cormier, aka Finn of Heartland, was a great talent, gone too soon. We are deeply saddened to hear of his passing.”

Heartland’s The official Instagram account also paid tribute to Cormier, writing: “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Robert Cormier. He is a beloved member of Heartland actors two seasons ago. On behalf of Heartland cast and crew, our thoughts are with him and his family, who have asked for privacy during this difficult time.”

Cormier was born in Toronto on June 14, 1989, and studied economics at York University before pursuing his ambition to become an actor. He graduated from the Toronto Film & Television Acting Academy in 2014 and landed his first major acting gig two years later when he appeared on ABC’s. Cormier is survived by his parents Robert and Lisa, his sisters Brittany, Krystal and Stephanie, his paternal grandmother Joanne, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
