Hello Yaddle, Goodbye Weekend

My blog last weekend JUST had to include this amazing character.

Recently released Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga great. One of my favorite games of 2022 and the best Star Wars game ever made. Even if it doesn’t include Yaddle, I still love the game. But it includes Yaddle. It took only 20 years, three blogsand all my time as a weekend editor, but it finally happened: Those cowards finally put Yaddle in a game.

And now, I leave the weekend to join the rest of the great writers (and Ari) at Kotaku in the normal week!

Early 2019a year feels completely archaic and not so long ago I started posting weekends at Kotaku as your Weekend Editor. In the end, I was hired full time and continued to be your Weekend Editor, while now I also write a few days a week. And over the years, I’ve used weekends as a place to create a silly blog, tell stupid storiesand energy drink review and other strange things. It was very happy and a lot of work.

And early in my weekend editing career, I wrote a blog about Yaddle and the complete absence of character in all Star Wars Game. At the time, I had no idea that TT Games would go and add characters Skywalker Saga. It took a couple of years and a few delays, but finally, three years after that stupid blog, I got Yaddle in a video game.

Now, in 2022, after being your weekend editor for three years, I’m hanging on to this title. I understand the timing can make you think, “Wait, is he just taking on this role to push Yaddle into the mainstream and put her in a game? And now he leaves after completing his mission? “The answer to that is… no comment.

But yeah, this is my last weekend blog as your intrepid editor every day that isn’t a weekday. For those who hate me, bad news: As mentioned, I’m not leaving Kotaku. I’m hanging around. But things are changing and the site will no longer have a dedicated Weekend Editor that runs trains on Saturdays and Sundays. Instead, my blogs and ideas will span the entire work week.

A stack of cans of Bang energy drink.

I have a lot of mixed feelings right now.

I’m so glad I finally have my weekends back after years of being caught up in work. I’m sad because I won’t be around to continue the old story Kotaku Traditional blogging on Saturday and Sunday. However, now I get to work with my fellow writers and editors like never before. What is good. After the strike, we all went out more and tried to connect with each other more. It’s a great tool. And I will play Yaddle in a big open world Star Wars game.

So, you know, my life isn’t so bad at all.

Thanks to anyone who read my weekend blogs and liked them, thanks! If you have participated in a ‘Shopping contest’ or laugh at Sunday Comics, I thank you for being around and having a good time. Weekends have changed here over the years, lose content and gain content. But I’m always happy to hang out with… most of you.

Oh, I need to make sure this blog is still about Yaddle so two things: You unlock her by talking to her at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, and listen to Yaddle talk nonsense. Finally, my dream has come true.

Then I shut down my blogging for the weekend and step outside. Funny enough, one of the first things I wrote for the weekend was a blog about Yaddle. And I end it with a blog also about Yaddle. It is like poetry. It rhymes.

See you again Monday – Friday.

(And feel free to share any of your favorite weekend blogs below, if you have one!)
