Today, during Microsoft’s big Xbox and Bethesda video game showcase, renowned game director and movie lover Hideo Kojimsomeone showed up to announce he was working on Xbox on his next game, and uh…hmmm…

Microsoft spent almost an hour today showcasing countless trailers and trailers for a list of washed video games, most of which are on Game Pass. Everything from Diablo IV to a new historical mystery game from Obsidian to vampire, carand even some Starfield style play! It was a show for sure. But stuck in the middle was a Hideo Kojima moment.

Rumors persist that Kojima will be working with Xbox on a new game, and today those rumors have been confirmed. But uh, just enough.

“There’s a game I’ve always wanted to do,” Kojima said via translated caption. “It’s a brand new game that no one has seen or experienced before. I’ve been waiting so long for the day that I can finally start creating it. With Microsoft’s cutting-edge cloud technology and a change in industry trends, it’s now possible to challenge yourself to come up with this never-before-seen concept.

“It may take a while, but I look forward to working with Xbox Game Studios and hopefully bring you some exciting news in the future!”

And…that’s it! No word on what kind of game that would be, what platform, name or even a codename… nothing!

It’s impressive how much Kojima needed to share in order to appear on the show today. Searched online, it worked. People are speculating as to why Kojima has to wait so long and what he might use cloud technology for in his new game. And of course, online console fans, trapped in a never-ending console war, have used looks to fuel the next round of forum and post wars. posted on Twitter as they demonstrated how much they love their plastic panel and brand.

Microsoft also landed a big contract on how all the games shown today during the event will be released within the next 12 months. However, it seems unlikely that any projects Kojima and his team are currently working on will be discontinued before June 12, 2023. Xbox may not count the project. this because no games were actually shown, but it feels like cheating.

Kotaku reached out to Xbox about Kojima’s game and if it’s coming out in the next 12 months.

One day, I also hope to be famous and liked by so many people that I can appear with Kotaku and promise a great blog or review with a few quick words and a smile. But that day hasn’t come yet, so why do you read only 464 words.
