How ELLE’s Beauty Director uses SheaMoisture’s new Styling Gel

As a new mom, ELLE beauty director Chloe Hall is always on the lookout for products that help keep her hair healthy and in place — no matter how the day turns out. SheaMoisture’s Coconut & Hibiscus Defining Styling Gel, the newest formula in the brand’s thick and curly hair line, has officially taken its place in her low-maintenance routine. Enriched with coconut oil, silk protein, neem and flaxseed oils to create healthy shine and prevent dryness, the gel helps to hold and control hair, hold and style with ease. (And who couldn’t use a little more ease and control in their mornings?)

Chloe loves using Styling Gel to style her low bun and she demonstrates exactly how in the video here. She starts by applying a small scoop of alcohol-free gel to her fingers from root to tip, making sure to evenly coat her edges. “It has a nice texture – it’s not too sticky but gives me great hold,” she says. Next, she combs through her hair to make sure the product is evenly distributed. Leaving her hair in front, she pulled it into a low bun and tied it in place. Then she tucked the front pads behind her ears and, as a finishing touch, sprayed SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Hold & Shine Moisture Mist above all. “It smells great, plus it adds a nice shine and tames any [flyaways] I failed,” she said. Chloe calls the final look “slick, sleek and doesn’t go anywhere.”
