I turned my side-hustle into a full-time job paying £144k a year – it all started with my dad’s love of music
A SAVVY businessman has turned his hustle and bustle business into a £144,000/year business, all thanks to his father’s love of music.
Will Fenton explains how to listen to classical music The Rolling Stones with his father helped him earn a lot of money monthly with his music website.
He is the founder of Between Music – a platform dedicated to educating readers about all aspects of music and entertainment, as well as teaching them how to play their favorite instrument with online lessons.
Aspiring artists can also get help and advice on how to succeed in the music industry.
Will had a music magazine by his side but wanted to immerse himself more in his passion by writing about it every day.
He said his father’s “great taste in music” was his inspiration when he founded the company in 2020.
“Music is such an important part of my life, I started playing drums at a young age,” he said.
“Also, my dad has a great taste in music and has been giving me the best songs from the day (The Rolling StonesThe Faces, etc) along with telling me about his early adventures in the Liverpool music scene.
“I also have a music magazine on the sidelines and just want to immerse myself in that world.
“So I took the advice, ‘pick a topic that you feel happy to write about every day’ and started MidderMusic.”
Will earns around £12,000 and his website has a valuation between £400,000 and £535,000.
MidderMusic also averages around 400,000 page views per month, but the entrepreneur says these numbers are growing rapidly.
As he grew his side job into a full-time gig, Will said his biggest obstacle was making enough money to grow his business and support himself at the same time.
“Although it’s simple, it’s also the hardest part, because you have to take what’s for a certain passion project and figure out how to monetize it and turn it into a profitable business.
“Some people start with the knowledge and intention of how they will make money, but for many people, starting a side business is a whole new path and you don’t necessarily have to have prior knowledge. wake up from day one.
“Some niches are harder to monetize than others, so figuring out how you’re going to monetize is important.”
Will doesn’t want to stop his business venture at MidderMusic because he also has his own personal finance blog.
“I am working on expanding and diversifying my portfolio,” he said. With my education in Economics and Finance, as well as experience working in London in the financial services sector, I have launched a personal finance blog, Knowledge of Sterling.”
