James Cameron is ‘excited’ by what Ubisoft is doing with the Avatar game

Avatar: Pandora’s Border impressed filmmaker James Cameron.

In an interview with IGN, Avatar The director explained that he’s “very excited” about Frontier of Pandora and how it fits into the Avatar universe.

“We’re very excited about what Ubisoft is doing with their game creators,” he said. “I’m not telling them what to do – they know their world, their business, their market. We just have to keep in mind that they don’t do anything out of the ordinary about the Na’vi culture and what RDA is doing on Pandora and all that sort of thing. “

Cameron’s plan was to create a durable Avatar universe, and the game fits that idea perfectly:

“Ubisoft on their side is likely to push back a bit and I haven’t gone into exactly what the deal is but what we’re looking for right now is to create a durable, tour-worthy world with a series of sequels,” he explained. “If we’re successful, we’ll move on and we’ll have a movie every two years or so. And we’ve got it. [World of Pandora] in Florida – and who knows, that could end up at other theme parks in Disney mode as well. “

Avatar: Pandora’s Border was announced back in 2017 with The Division developer Massive Entertainment working on the game. First person action adventure gameAvatar: Frontier of Pandora uses the same Snowdrop engine as The Division… but has the ability will be different from the popular cover-based shooter quite a bit.

“What Cameron said was everyone who came out of the Avatar movie, and it’s going to be this with the sequel [movie], there is one dream that we can fulfill, which is to go to Pandora and survive on Pandora, and live an alternate life on Pandora,” said Massive Entertainment chief executive David Polfeldt. “That’s what you can do in the game.”

The sequel to the upcoming movie, Avatar: The Road of Waterwill hit theaters on December 16, 2022, but the game is already delayed until at least April 2023.

An official statement from Ubisoft said the game “will continue to expand and deepen the Avatar universe in exciting and innovative ways alongside the films.” With Several movie sequels are already on the cardsthere is still much to come.
