Jeff Bezos gives 40 grants worth $123 million to fight homelessness

Jeff Bezos is do his first donation since Amazon the founder pledged last week to give away most of his net worth, estimated at 116 billion USD.

On Tuesday, the Bezos Day One fund announced $123 million in grants to 40 organizations across the U.S. The Foundation said it hopes the donation will “help families transition from homelessness to permanent housing with services that they need to achieve stability.” The Day One Fund, launched in 2018, is Bezos’ $2 billion commitment to help homeless families and build preschools in low-income areas.
