As the new Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton made her first event after the Queen’s funeral in Wales itself. Kate visited the Royal National Rescue Service’s Holyhead Lifeguard Station today in Anglesey with Prince William. She’s very fall-dressed, pairing a striking red jacket with heels and black pants. She outfitted the Spells of Love hoop earrings, which have yet to sell out.
The appearance comes five days after she and William went out to thank volunteers and staff who helped organize the Queen’s funeral at Windsor’s Guildhall. Kate was then wearing a black double-breasted gown.
The Prince and Princess of Wales reiterated their gratitude on their Instagram, writing:
Thank you to everyone who has worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone who has visited Windsor over the past two weeks has a safe and positive experience.
It was a pleasure meeting a small number of staff and volunteers today — we are so grateful for all of your efforts.
William and Kate, formerly the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, take their new royal titles Prince and Princess of Wales from King Charles III in his first speech as king after the Queen’s death. Their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have also changed their titles, now also becoming Prince or Princess of Wales instead of Cambridge.
William reflected on the Queen’s impact on Kate and their children in his statement about her death, shared on the couple’s Instagram. “My wife has had twenty years of guiding and supporting her. My three kids get to spend vacations with her and create memories that will last for a lifetime.”
