Kumar Sanu who is known for his chart-topping hits in the 90’s is getting ready to host a Durga Puja in Mumbai this year. The musician will pay homage to his Bengali heritage and the puja is said to be open to the public.
Opening the festival, the singer said, “Born and raised in Kolkata, the best memory that Bengalis keep is the celebration of Durga Puja as a community with enthusiasm and excitement. I was I’ve been to different places around the world but still I haven’t felt the same emotions anywhere else, the way I did when I was a kid in Kolkata Durga Puja has always been a lavish relationship for with us and celebrated with great zest.”
He added, “In order to bring the same feelings closer to the city that I call my home now, Mumbai, I have decided to hold Durga Puja in Andheri this year. People like me, the people who are far from Kolkata and miss the taste and essence of Durga Puja style celebrated there, this celebration is for them.I want everyone to relive those feelings again in the most authentic way possible. can.”
Kumar Sanu will be celebrating Durga Puja from October 1 to 5 in the Andheri area of Mumbai.
