Kyiv mayor says ‘several Russian rockets’ downed over capital


KYIV: Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Wednesday that “several Russian missiles” had been shot down in the Ukrainian capital after AFP reporters heard loud explosions in the city center.
“Air defenses shot down several Russian missiles in Kyiv. Stay in shelters!” Klitschko said on social media.
On Monday, Russian attacks with Iranian-made drones targeting energy infrastructure killed at least five people in Kyiv.
Governor of Kyiv Region, Oleksiy Kulebawrote on social media that air defenses are also active in the area.
