As the festive season drags on, Tunechi fans will no longer be able to see him take to the UK stage for the first time in fourteen years. According to Hotnewhiphop, the UK Home Office denied Lil Wayne entry to the country in a last-minute decision.
In a statement provided to Rolling Stone, the Interior Department explained,
“Any individual who has been sentenced to reform for 12 months or more must file a waiver.” Strawberries & Creem also released a statement regarding the matter. “We are deeply disappointed by this unexpected and negative ruling,” the statement read. “We’ve received very little notice, and the timing of the decision will, of course, be upsetting to everyone involved – including Lil Wayne’s fans, as well as the festival team. . Throughout the weekend, we still have an incredible array of artists joining us. “
Unfortunately, this marks the second festival that Wayne has been unable to attend. He was scheduled to perform at the Governor’s Ball in New York City last weekend, but the festival resulted in the disruption of his flight and his replacement with A$AP Ferg. Ferg was booked to replace Migos, who dropped out. Wayne seems to have had no trouble this year. However, it looks like the problem might be from his December 2020 join.
