Man pulled from Hitchcock park pool is said to have suffered a severe brain injury


At 11:26 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported an unidentified young Hispanic male, 15 to 20 years old, at the Hitchcock Park Pool, located at Hitchcock Road and 45th Street. The Omaha Fire Department responded to a call around 11:32 p.m. and found a man inside the pool, but could not find witnesses or traffic in the area. Mercy needs resuscitation. This is the second related incident since May 29, when an unidentified 18-year-old male was found at the bottom of the pool after hours – he had jumped a fence with friends.

A young Hispanic male aged 15 to 20 years was pulled from the pool and taken to Bergan Mercy where he required resuscitation.

According to police, anyone who reported the drowning was using a phone number that could not be traced or contacted to respond.

It is unclear how the man got into the gated pool and how many other people were with him at the time.
