Just last week at “The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering”, new Maserati MC20 Cielo was launched, sharing a convertible version of their super sports car. Offering the perfect combination of luxury and sportiness, the car is equipped with a modern Nettuno V6 engine and an innovative retractable glass roof that provides a distinctive “sense of the sky”.
The car is 100% made in Italy as it was developed at the Maserati Innovation Lab in Modena and produced at the company’s historic factory on Viale Ciro Menotti.
As the first car in the convertible segment, it is equipped with an innovative and unique retractable smart-glass roof that can instantly switch from clear to translucent at the touch of a button. To do so, the roof uses Polymer Dispersive Liquid Crystal (PDLC) technology to provide a multifaceted driving experience: cozy and focused when the roof is closed and opaque; a unique open “sense of the sky” when the roof is transparent; a comprehensive top-down experience.
At the heart of the MC20 Cielo is the revolutionary new 3.0-liter Nettuno engine, which produces 630 hp at 7,500 rpm and 730 Nm of torque at 3,000-5,500 rpm. Maserati’s Nettuno was the first engine for a road car to use an innovative combustion chamber pre-combustion system with twin spark plugs, a technology derived from Formula 1 competitions.
Maserati also introduced the Grecale Trofeo performance SUV in Grigio Lava Opaco (matte lava gray) and the MC20 Coupé super sports car alongside Rosso Corse, Bianco Audace Lucido and Verde Smeraldo (Corse red, glossy white and emerald green) ) at the event.
Grecale Trofeo: powered by a high-performance 530 hp 3.0L V6 petrol engine, based on Nettuno. The brand’s latest SUV represents the ideal blend of luxury, innovation, performance and versatility, while ensuring optimum comfort, drivability and safety.
In contrast, the MC20 Fuoriserie: is part of the Maserati Fuoriserie custom program. Maserati Fuoriserie gives customers the opportunity to create the car of their dreams, tailored to their preferences. Using a wide range of colors and designs, the only limitation is the imagination of the individual customer, who can express their individual creativity across the range of high-end Italian brands.
