FX will make another trip with MC of the Maya

The basic Disney-backed cable network used its time at San Diego Comic-Con to thrill fans with the news that Sons of Anarchy branch will return for the fifth season. The announcement made Sunday at the convention comes as no surprise as the show’s predecessor series regularly announce similar news to close Comic-Con. As part of the renewal process, co-creator Elgin James has signed a new multi-year master deal with Disney’s 20th Television Studios – the studio behind the show and SOA. James has acted as a host for the series since firing co-creator and executive producer Kurt Sutter a few years ago.

James said: “The 20th is my home. “Dana [Walden]Karey [Burke] and Jane [Francis] is my family, who always support, support and challenge me to bring out my full potential. I’m incredibly grateful to them and all of the 20 team. I can’t wait to see what we can create together moving forward. And every member of Mayans family, from the top of our calling board to the protected areas of our establishment and each person in between has shed their blood and sweat to create Mayans something special on set and on screen. I am incredibly grateful to John, Eric, Nick and all of FX (especially Colette Wilson, who has been with us since day one) for allowing us to continue to explore and create. “

JD Pardo, Edward James Olmos, Danny Pino, Carla Baratta, Michael Irby, Raoul Max Trujillo, Emilio Rivera, Sarah Bolger, Frankie Loyal, Joseph Lucero and star Vincent Vargas.
