Megan Thee Stallion spent four emotional hours in the stands, giving testimony Tuesday during the trial of Tory Lanez, who was accused of shooting the famous rapper after a party in Los Angeles in 2020.

Pete said of Canadian rapper Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson: “I wish he would have shot me dead if I had known I was going to have to go through this torture.

The shooting happened after Pete, Peterson, Peterson’s bodyguard, and Pete’s old friend Kelsey Harris left a party at Kylie Jenner’s home in Los Angeles in July 2020. Pete testified that an argument was between her. and Peterson prompted the shooting.

Pete thinks Peterson, 30, is upset that she asked to leave Jenner’s party early. When Peterson allegedly revealed to Harris that Pete and Peterson had sex, the situation escalated, she said. She testified that Peterson called both women offensive words and began arguing about their musical careers.

When Pete asked to get out of the car, she testified that Peterson fired a shot as she walked away shouting “Jump, b—h!”

Peterson has denied ever shooting Pete. Instead, his attorney George Mgdesyan told the Los Angeles court that a jealous argument between Pete and Harris inspired the shooting. Although Mgdesyan did not say that Harris shot Pete (a long-held theory among staunch Peterson supporters), he did assert Peterson’s DNA was not found on the weapon.

Peterson has been charged with assault with a firearm, illegal possession of a weapon and careless discharge of a firearm. If convicted, the Brampton, Ont.-born rapper. will face more than 22 years in prison.

While holding back his tears, Pete was questioned by both district prosecutors Kathy Ta and Mgdesyan.

We showed the courtroom police footage of Pete hobbling on his bloody feet out of a black car. She was then seen in the back of the ambulance, crying a lot.

“I can’t believe I have to come in here and do this,” Pete said from the witness stand.

After the shooting, Pete testified that Peterson offered her and Harris $1 million each to not report the shooting to police, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Pete initially kept quiet about the shooting. She testified on Tuesday that the killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor made her, a Black woman, feel unsafe talking to the LAPD.

Peterson was later arrested for concealing a weapon.

When Pete finally reported Peterson to the police, she did not reveal that she and the rapper had an affair. Tuesday was the first time Pete publicly confirmed she and Peterson were intimate.

When Mgdesyan asked Pete why, she replied, “How can I share my body with someone who is going to shoot me?”

It is unclear if Peterson will testify in the trial, which is expected to last eight days.

Also in 2020, Pete spoke in an Instagram live stream and publicly accused Peterson of shooting her. The accusation has fueled the fire of speculation that has already existed among hip-hop fans on social media.

Since then, separate pro-Pete and pro-Peterson factions have formed both online and offline.

In court on Tuesday, Pete said the public backlash to her claims was “torture”. She specifically mentioned a lot of male rappers who have sided with Peterson.

Even Drake mentioned the shooting in the song 2022 Circo Locowhere he implies that he doesn’t believe Pete’s claims.

In the song, Drake raps: “This b—h lie ’bout gettin’ shots, but she still a stallion/She doesn’t even understand the joke, but she still laughs.”

Outside the courtroom, a group of fans were seen with signs, banners and T-shirts saying “We stand with Megan”.
