Mother arrested after 3-year-old son’s body was found decomposing in freezer at home in Detroit
A mother has been arrested after police discovered the decomposing body of her three-year-old son stuffed in their home’s freezer.
Based on Detroit Newspolice officers and members of the Child protection service went to the Detroit home on Friday morning to undergo a medical checkup. When the 30-year-old woman opened the door, the Detroit Sheriff James White claims authorities immediately had a feeling something was wrong as she acted strangely during their interactions:
“She was trying to push the officers away as if nothing had happened. Something is wrong in the conversation. “
Sadly, their suspicions were turned out to be true when officers entered the home and found five children living in complete suffocation – and the decomposing body of another, three-year-old. Chase Allen, inside the basement freezer. Terrible…

After the gruesome discovery, the mother was arrested and her five other children were taken to the hospital. White says:
“This case shocked me, and shocked our investigators. The other kids are in the house – imagine what they’ve been through. Imagine what they had to endure while living in that house. You can imagine that they will all suffer some degree of trauma. We will learn more in the coming hours and days after the children are interviewed. “
In addition to interviewing her children, White also noted that they were checking to see if the mother had any past contacts with Detroit police or the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. According to the boy’s grandmother, Toni Haynes, she and other family members have called Child Protective Services “dozens of times” this year. Ladies share for Detroit News that she became suspicious of her daughter when it was alleged that Chase burned his hand when he touched some noodles one day:
“I know it’s some bull. I called her CPS. A lot of us have been calling, and they’re going to come and give her back her children right away.”
Haynes revealed that the youngster, who is blind, has not been seen since March, since Fox 2 News:
“She (the mother) couldn’t handle it, and we all said leave him to us if you can’t handle it.”
After the state visited her mother’s home several times, Haynes testified that she told her that Chase had gone to live with his grandfather’s girlfriend in Coldwater, Michigan. She added:
“But then (grandfather) got out of prison and he told me Chase didn’t live with his girlfriend.”
Two weeks ago, the family decided to come home to confront the mother and then call Child Protective Services again. Sadly, that’s when they found Chase dead inside the freezer. Haynes expressed to the publication.
“You won’t believe how angry I was about this.”
Investigators do not know how long a child’s body has been in the freezer or whether its siblings know it has been buried there.
One GoFundMe The page was created by Haynes to cover the cost of Chase’s funeral, along with some clothing and other essentials for the surviving children. She writes:
“If someone has anything other than money that they can donate to the kids, we would appreciate that too because the mother is in custody.”
A horrible situation…
We are keeping other children and families in our thoughts during this difficult time.
