Musk backs DeSantis — archenemy of the ‘awakened agenda’ — for the presidency
Elon Musk is disappointed with GOP star Ron DeSantis becoming the next president of the United States.
The fickle billionaire tweeted his support for Florida’s governor on Friday night, reply with “yes” when a Twitter user asked if he would support DeSantis running for the White House.
“My priority for the 2024 presidency is a sensible and neutral person. I was hoping that would happen with the Biden administration, but so far I’ve been disappointed.” Written the Tesla and space The CEO, who now owns Twitter after a $44 billion takeover last month.
He added, “As a reminder, I am a significant supporter of the Obama-Biden presidency and (reluctantly) voted for Biden instead of Trump.”
DeSantis hasn’t announced a bid for the White House, but there’s been plenty of speculation. He easily defeated Democrat Charlie Crist in the midterm elections, securing his second term as governor.
Like Musk, DeSantis has consistently spoken out against the “sober agenda”. In his victory speech this month, he said, “We fight the trendy in the legislature. We fight awakening in schools. We fight the awakeners in corporations. We will never surrender to the mob that has woken up. Florida is a place to wake up to die. I just started fighting.”
Musk has carried out similar attacks. He tweeted in April that “the virus of the sober mind is creating Netflix cannot be viewed. And this month, Musk Twitter account restored of the satirical website Babylon Bee, has been blocked for mistakenly transgender Rachel Levine, the US assistant secretary of health and a transgender woman. (His ex-wife, Talulah Riley, had urge him “Do something to fight wakefulness” and is particularly concerned about the Babylon Bee account being suspended, asking: “Why are people being so demanding?”)
Musk also brought back Donald Trump’s account. In January of last year, a few days after the Capitol riots, Twitter Trump is banned forever “due to the risk of inciting further violence.”
musk many times criticize company’s actions, along with general content moderation policies. He quickly fired senior Twitter executives when he took over the company.
Trump, who announced after the midterm elections that he would run for re-election in 2024, is sure to be enraged by Musk’s support of DeSantis. The former president supported DeSantis’ 2018 bid for governor, but relations between the GOP leaders cooled as DeSantis became more and more popular among conservative voters.
Trump on November 10 Defendant DeSantis for lack of “loyalty and class,” and he launched the nickname “Ron DeSanctimonious” at a rally in Pennsylvania. I also warning that if DeSantis were to run for office, he would reveal “things about him that wouldn’t be very flattering—I know him better than anyone—other than his wife perhaps.”
Whether he would reveal such things on Twitter remains a question. Trump has said he will stick with his own social networking site Truth Social (an app developed by Trump Media & Technology Group) even though Musk has restored his Twitter account. musk made obscene jokes about Trump being tempted to tweet again, while Trump replies about his reinstatement by speaking that Twitter as a company “may not be successful.”
yesterday’s musk again Criticize the original decision to ban Trump’s Twitter account, writing, “It is important that Twitter corrected a serious mistake in banning his account, even though it didn’t violate the law or terms of service. The removal of a sitting President undermines the public’s trust in Twitter for half of America.”
However, he added, “I’m fine with Trump not tweeting.”
