Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan to get married on June 9, here’s everything you need to know
Nayanthara, who was recently seen in the Tamil romantic comedy Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal, directed by her longtime boyfriend Vignesh Shivan, is getting married. Nayanthara and Vignesh, who have been dating for almost seven years, will get married on Thursday, June 9 in Chennai. They met Tamil Nadu Prime Minister MK Stalin over the weekend and invited him to their wedding.
A photo of Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan taken with Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has surfaced on social media, showing them handing him a bouquet of flowers. Nayanthara is holding a wedding invitation card. MK Stalin’s son, actor and producer Udhayanidhi Stalin, was also present. The wedding is scheduled to take place at a resort near Chennai’s East Coast Road.
Last year, Nayanthara announced her engagement to her partner Vignesh Shivan on a regional TV channel. Nayanthara discussed her relationship status as part of the promotion for her movie Netrikann. Nayanthara was asked about the ring on her finger during an appearance on a talk show, and she confirmed that she is engaged to Vignesh Shivan.
Nayanthara and Vignesh started dating after working together on his second film, Naanum Rowdydhaan. Vijay Sethupathi also appeared in the film, which was a box office success.
Meanwhile, Vignesh and Nayanthara have recently started production. Koozhangal, aka Pebbles, was recently selected to participate in the Shanghai International Film Festival. The film is about a father and son duo who are shattered by poverty as they try to find their way in life. It only introduces newcomers and features music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. After premiering in April, director Vignesh Shivan Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal’s latest work was also successful at the box office. Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha Ruth Prabhu also appear in the film. Nayanthara is currently awaiting the release of her upcoming Tamil horror film O2, which will be exclusive to OTT.
