Kawhi Leonard took a three-point lead with 2:46 remaining as the Los Angeles Clippers finished their six-game run with a harrowing 124-116 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night in New York.
Los Angeles took an 11-point lead second in the third inning and then lost their six-point advantage before ending the game 15-3 in the final 3:29.
Leonard, who scored 24 points, put the Clippers ahead with a time remaining of 2:46 when he hit three points past Cam Thomas from the left to take a 114-113 lead. After Leonard made two free throws with the remaining score of 2:13, Thomas missed a throw that should have ended 1:57 and Leonard found Ivica Zubac to make one. shot, making it 118-113 with 1:41 left.

The Nets were leading 118-116 thanks to Edmond Sumner’s three-point play with 72 seconds left, but Nicolas Batum converted the three-point play and Reggie Jackson’s pitch ended the game at the last minute.
Paul George scored 29 points for the Clippers, who won 4-2 on their trip. Zubac added 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Norman Powell contributed 14 points.
Thomas scored a career-high 47 points, becoming the second youngest player in NBA history to score at least 40 points in consecutive games. Sumner added 23 points for the Nets, who traded Kyrie Irving to Dallas before the game and fell 5-8 while Kevin Durant recovered from MCL sprained his right knee.

Los Angeles finished the first half 16-7 to take a 29-27 lead, and Terance Mann’s change took a 51-40 lead with 2:48 left in the second half before the Clippers settled with a scoreline. 55-53 during recess.
Zubac’s pitch took a 72-61 lead with 8:44 remaining in the third inning, but the Nets responded with a 16-2 lead and a 77-74 lead thanks to pitches from Sumner and Nic Claxton on the field. posses in a row when there are about five minutes left. Los Angeles then led 91-88 in the fourth round with a treble by Batum with 31 seconds remaining.
After Mann’s substitution opened up a 99-93 advantage with 10:07 remaining, the Nets scored 14 consecutive points to take a 107-99 lead thanks to Sumner’s 6:20. Los Angeles scored nine points in a row to take a 108-107 lead thanks to Zubac’s 4:39 hook.
