NBA: Grizzlies defeated by short-armed Hawks

Tyus Jones had the highest 22 points and 11 assists of the season, and hosts the Memphis Grizzlies won their sixth game in a row, taking a 128-103 win over the short-handled Atlanta Hawks on Monday night.
Jones was 8 to 14 on the field, including four 3-pointers, along with three steals. He topped the 20-point mark for the third time this season and the second in four games.
Dillon Brooks added 18 points, Santi Aldama had 16 and Jaren Jackson Jr. 15 points, 7 rebounds and 8 career-high saves. The Grizzlies had seven players who scored twice as many points.

The Hawks played without four starters: top scorer Trae Young (back), top playmaker Clint Capela (left Achilles), John Collins (left ankle) and Dejounte Murray (left ankle), as well as top substitute Bogdan Bogdanovic (injury manager).
De’Andre Hunter, the only regular starter on the team, scored 19 points. Aaron Holiday scored 15 points and Jalen Johnson added 14 points and 9 rebounds. AJ Griffin and Frank Kaminsky each scored 13 points.
Memphis took an early 27-17 lead, but the Hawks scored 10 in a row to end the game. From that point on, the Grizzlies picked up momentum and never gave up on it. Memphis finished the first half 8-2 and led 35-29 to enter the second half.
The Grizzlies took 10 points from Aldama in the second half and led 62-51 in the first half. After Aldama’s treble at 3:04 gave Memphis a 55-45 lead, the Grizzlies never led by less than 10 points for the rest of the game.
The Grizzlies played without Ja Morant (right thigh), Steven Adams (right ankle) and Desmond Bane (right big toe).
It was the first meeting of the season between the two teams. Atlanta won two games in a row in Memphis.
Atlanta continues its three-game trip on Wednesday in Orlando. Memphis completed a five-match home game on Thursday against Milwaukee.
