NBA: Luka Doncic fills in the parameters, leads the Mavericks to overcome Wolves

Luka Doncic scored 25 points, 10 assists, 9 rebounds and 3 robberies to help the Dallas Mavericks win 104-99 over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday in Minneapolis.
Doncic took eight of 16 shots from the floor after being limited to a season-low 19 in Dallas’ 116-106 defeat to Minnesota on Monday. His night was cut short in that competition after being eliminated in the third quarter.
Tim Hardaway Jr. and Spencer Dinwiddie, who each drew four 3-pointers on Wednesday to finish with 21 and 19 points respectively. Christian Wood scored 12 points and Dwight Powell added 10 points for the Mavericks, who have won 3 of the last 8 games overall and 4 of 15 games this season.

Earlier on Wednesday, Dallas coach Jason Kidd was fined $25,000 by the NBA for coming to the field to confront and directing inappropriate language towards a game official during Monday’s game. He was judged for two technical errors and was kicked out of the competition.
Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards scored 23 points to confuse the Mavericks for the second time in three days. He raked in 27 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists on Monday.
Rudy Gobert scored 19 points and 15 rebounds on his return from a three-game absence with an ankle injury.

Austin Rivers had 21 points for the Timberwolves, which saw their three-game winning streak come to a halt.
Hardaway took a free throw to make it 100-94 for the Mavericks with 32.7 seconds remaining. Jaden McDaniels sank 3 pointers on his next possession to halve the deficit before Doncic and Dinwiddie sealed the victory by each converting to two shots from the free-throw line.
The Timberwolves were leading 85-82 before the Mavericks started heating up from a distance of 3 points. Hardaway and Reggie Bullock each sank a pair of treys and Dinwiddie also converted from outside the arc to give Dallas a 97-89 lead with four minutes left in the fourth round.
Gobert’s dunk and Rivers’ three-pointer cut the gap before Doncic made a mid-range jump to stop the momentum.
