The Toronto Raptors overcame the Memphis Grizzlies 28-17 in the fourth inning for a thrilling 106-103 road win on Sunday night.

Toronto took a 100-99 lead with 2:32 to play in the fourth round thanks to a pitch from Precious Achiuwa. Memphis then regained the lead thanks to two free throws from Xavier Tillman.

Floating athlete Tyus Jones gave the Grizzlies a 103-100 lead with 59 seconds of play. But Scottie Barnes’ backkick gave Toronto a 104-103 lead with 20 seconds left.

Two free throws from Pascal Siakam made the Raptors 106-103, which is how the game ended after Jaren Jackson Jr’s failed 3-pointer.

Siakam finished with 19 points, six rebounds and five assists. Barnes added 16 points and 7 rebounds.

Chris Boucher had 13 points coming off the bench in the first half and finished with a brace (17 points, 10 rebounds) for Toronto.

Fred VanVleet (15 points, 7 assists), Thaddeus Young (14 points) and Achiuwa (10 points, 7 rebounds) also played well for the Raptors. Seven of the eight players who saw the floor scored doubles for Toronto.

Desmond Bane leads Memphis with 26 points. Jackson fouled early but finished with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Santi Aldama added 15 points, all in the first half.

Jones started for Ja Morant (right wrist pain) and had 9 points, 8 goals and 7 assists. Tillman replaced Dillon Brooks (suspended) in the starting line-up and had 12 points and 9 rebounds.

Memphis led 31-28 at the end of the first half, 12 points behind Aldama and six points behind Tillman and Bane. The Raptors’ bench, led by Young (six points), overcame the Grizzlies reserves 11-0 in the opening half.

Toronto took the lead for the first time, 55-53, with 3:44 to go through in the second half on a 3-pointer VanVleet. The Grizzlies entered the halftime with a 62-59 advantage after overtaking the Raptors 9-4 before the break.

The 19-7 run, scored by nine points from Jackson, gave Memphis an 81-66 lead with 4:44 left to play in the third inning. The Raptors finished the half 7-0 to beat the Grizzlies 86-78.
