NBA: Tyrese Hailburton scores 33 as Pacers lead Celtics

Tyrese Hailburton scored 20 of his 33 points in the first half to help the Indiana Pacers beat hosts Boston Celtics 117-112 on Wednesday night.
Haliburton made 12 of 24 shots from the field, hitting 6 3-pointers, adding 8 assists and 3 rebounds as Indiana overcame the two-board skateboard.
The Pacers led with 28 points after halftime and prevented a furious Boston comeback that included 42 points in the third inning.

Former Celtic player Aaron Nesmith scored 15 points, Chris Duarte had 14 points largely thanks to four 3-pointers, and Myles Turner added 10 points.
Jayson Tatum scored the highest 41 points of the game, Jaylen Brown added 19 points and 10 rebounds and Malcolm Brogdon had 18 and 7 assists as Boston fell 0-3 at home spanning seven games. .
Robert Williams III had 12 rebounds for the Celtics, who have lost five of their past six games.
Boston guard Marcus Smart was absent due to a non-COVID illness.
Indiana turned an early six-point shortfall into a 23-11 lead with an 18-0 lead. That’s 42-22 Pacers after one inning.
Haliburton and Hield hit three in a row throughout the series to give the Pacers a five-point lead. Hield and Turner’s driver arrangement caused Boston to timeout.
Another Haliburton game came before the record-breaking move, creating Sam Hauser’s second chance at 4:12. Williams’ two pitches gave Boston 33-19, but Indiana hit three more — including one from Duarte with 2.7 seconds left — late in the half.
The Pacers were in full control at half-time largely thanks to a 13-0 scoreline that included a 3 Smith pointer and a Nesmith layout. Nesmith’s treble at 1:07 gave Indiana a 30-point lead.
Boston’s 8-0 opening of the second half was blocked with two free throws.
Duarte hit two last-minute shots to lift Indiana to a 100-85 lead at the bell of the third round, though Tatum scored 15 points shooting 5/6 in the frame.
Tatum hit two 3-pointers on counter-attacks to cut Boston’s deficit to 106-99 midway through the fourth inning. Haliburton’s converted Trey puts Indiana back 10 with 4:14 left.
Boston was in the ring five with 3:06 to go, but then Indiana 6-0. Tatum scored six consecutive goals in the final 2:01 to take the lead.
