TUSCALOOSA, Ala. —- Young Bryce and Alabama took 10th place, even if the 7th title wasn’t on the card.
Young passed 343 yards and three touches and scored another point in what was probably his final home game for 8th Alabama, leading the Crimson Tide past Auburn 49-27 during the Iron Bowl on Saturday.
Alabama (10-2, 6-2 Southeast Conference, CFP No. 7) hits double digits for wins for its 15th consecutive season but will almost certainly fall short of its current national championship aspirations .
The Tigers (5-7, 2-6) are trying to secure poor qualification and salvage a disappointing campaign.
Tide coach Nick Saban said the criticism following his team’s two final losses “really brought the players together.”
“I think one of the things that makes me most proud is when people think they’ve run out of things – when there’s a lot of protestors out there – this team didn’t give up, didn’t give up. stick together and win some tough games to end the season,” Saban said.
