MANILA, Philippines-Dom Fajardo continues to be one of the PBA On Tour’s best players after helping NLEX complete a 102-94 comeback win over San Miguel Beer on Wednesday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City .
Fajardo, who worked as a security officer for NLEX while also dressing up the team’s 3×3 PBA team prior to the show series, had 20 points, 7 bounces and 4 steals. when the Road Warriors won after taking a 19-point lead after halftime.
Kevin Alas and Jake Pascual made their two-player game near-perfect in the final two minutes, and NLEX clinched results in their favor with just their second win in six outings in On. Tour.
“We had a good run in the third quarter, that really set the tone for us. And we’re glad we have someone like Dom Fajardo,” said coach Frankie Lim.
Alas has 15 points, 3 bounces and 5 assists while Pascual adds 10 points and 8 bounces for NLEX.
San Miguel dropped to 2-5 after playing with only eight men for a variety of reasons, including the absence of Terrence Romeo after his hamstring strained against Converge on June 19.
The Beermen were so depleted they included unannounced guard Jayvee Dela Cruz, who recently played for PSP in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup.
Dela Cruz had three points and five assists in 21 minutes before fouling.
Allyn Bulanadi’s 26 points and Rodney Brondial’s 22 points and 24 rebounds are among San Miguel’s few bright spots.
